Barco LED technology evaluated as a complete image chain

Pixel pitch is one variable. Source sampling, scaling, scan behavior, calibration, cabinet mechanics, thermal conditions and service restoration determine what users actually see.

Horizontal verification roadmap

Four gates from source file to restored image

Each gate ends with evidence another project team can reproduce. Use the same source, room conditions and operating settings when candidates are compared.

01 · Define

Freeze observation conditions

Record active resolution, nearest viewing point, smallest content element, illuminance at the wall and source formats before a pitch is shortlisted.

02 · Measure

Test optical behavior

Use low-gray ramps, small text, motion and saturated color. Save calibrated luminance, white point, measurement position and room-light readings.

03 · Challenge

Exercise processing limits

For camera use, record frame rate, shutter, lens, camera distance and refresh configuration while checking moiré, scan artifacts and motion rendering.

04 · Restore

Prove service recovery

Isolate a planned signal path, time recovery, replace a serviceable module and restore calibration after the wall reaches representative operating temperature.

Technology showcase

Three specifications that need their test condition attached

The symbols identify measurement domains, not universal Barco series values. Binding limits come from the selected product data sheet and project acceptance protocol.

mm

Pixel pitch and sampling

A smaller pitch can resolve finer detail at close distance, yet increases pixel count, processing load, power density and cost. Confirm the largest pitch that still resolves required content at the nearest real viewer.

cd/m²

Calibrated luminance

Peak output is not the room target. Measure day and night illuminance, then test black-level perception, low-gray uniformity and input power under fixed content at the intended scene settings.

Hz

Refresh and camera interaction

A refresh number alone cannot predict a camera result. Frame rate, shutter angle, scan configuration, camera distance, content motion and LED drive behavior must be recorded together.

Verification roles

Three owners, one technical record

These are project roles rather than named partnership claims. The handoff is credible when each owner signs the evidence within its scope.

LED product documentation role icon

Product documentation owner

Confirms the applicable series data sheet, supported signal configuration, service method, environmental limits and compatible replacement parts.

AV integration verification role icon

AV integration owner

Records source-to-processor mapping, wall geometry, calibration settings, redundancy paths and witnessed failover results.

Operations acceptance role icon

Operations owner

Verifies representative content, alarm visibility, recovery procedure, spare custody and the conditions used for final acceptance.

Verification counter

Minimum evidence path for an LED technology decision

The counters describe this method, not corporate performance claims.

Ask for a Barco LED sample test with the settings attached

Bring representative files, observation distance, room-light readings and camera settings. The result should be a repeatable technical record, not a showroom impression.
